Plein air artists (or wannabe’s) are invited to the Blacksburg Farmers Market on Draper Road
Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 2-6 p.m.
First time event!
The Blacksburg Regional Artist Association (BRAA) has joined with the market folks to bring a fun new event to the summer roster of happenings.
All local artists who enjoy the challenge of Plein air painting are invited to take part in the Wednesday market fun!
- Several tents will be set up along with some chairs
- Artists can workin or outside the tents as long as they don’t impede market traffic
- Vendor setup starts at 12:30 p.m. Artists are invited to join the bustle
- Parking for setup: Park in the two unloading spots adjacent to the Market Square on Roanoke St. there are also two 15-minute spots near the entrance to the parking lot on Draper St. good for unloading. To park for the day, look for street parking on Draper and Roanoke, Church St, and Kent St.
- Music provided by Justin Craig on his guitar
- Still life setup will be available for those who might want to paint that instead of general market madness
- Perspective Gallery will have an art table with watercolors and paper to entice wannabe artists of all ages to find their inner Van Gogh

The Blacksburg Farmers Market is more than a market, it’s a community gathering place, with a full calendar of entertainment and educational activities like Mingle on the Market, and a Vintage Market the the second Sunday each month. Come on down, and join us for a taste of local culture!
