Williamson Farms is owned and operated by Tom and Tara Williamson, located in Botetourt County. Tom’s family began farming the land in the 1740s, and Tom and Tara are honored to continue to care for the land for over five generations.
What began as a passion project to revitalize the shrinking family farm quickly turned into a mission when they realized that finding transparent, locally produced food for their own family was difficult. With this goal in mind, they have worked tirelessly to provide the most sustainable, quality food that embodies the respect they hold for the land, animals, and their customers. They are proud to offer customers grass-fed & finished Angus beef, eggs from their pasture-raised chickens, pastured lamb, and freshly milled oatmeal and grains. You can even see Tom working the mill in-person on Saturdays at the market, whipping up delicious breakfast oats or cornmeal from corn grown right on their farm.
Tom and Tara are both graduates of Virginia Tech (though asking them the year may be a sore subject) and are thrilled to continue to serve their fellow Hokies and Blacksburg community with quality local food. Find them at the market every Saturday, or if you’re up for a small road trip, visit their newly opened farm stand right on their farm in Troutville.
They firmly believe that you are what you eat, and that the food has the power to connect us all.
