We are a family owned and operated farm on the outskirts of Rural Retreat. We began raising goats to eat the wild stuff in our fields. A few years later we switch to a dairy breed of goats. We (Jonathan & Chelsea along with our 5 children) breed, raise the babies, and milk the goats as a family project (nothing like family bonding time at 5:45 am in the dairy barn!). A few years ago, my parents, John and Barbara “retired” to Rural Retreat and John began making goat cheese. A few years later, we have a large dairy barn, inline pipe system where we can milk 6 goats at a time, birth, raise and milk our herd of Nubian goats. We currently make cheese twice a week and offer 5 flavors of Chevre (a soft goat cheese), a Queso Fresco (semi-hard pressed cheese in plain and red pepper flavors), a dry salted Feta, and a “Cobbled” hard cheddar-type cheese. We have plans to get our walk-in cheese cave going soon and hope to offer a few more cheese options by the end of the summer. >From our family to yours, we look forward to seeing you at the market. Please stop by and try some farm fresh, artisan goat cheese!
